Our Pea in the Pod is 5 months old!

Weight/Length: I’m going to guess between 16 and 17 pounds.  As far as length goes, I have no idea. It might be time to pull out the measuring tape again if I can find some time where Noah is calm, cool, and collected (yeah right).

Eating: Noah feeds every two to three hours during the day. This month we brought out the SOLIDS! Boy oh boy, it has been so much fun. Let me just say- Noah should be purple with all the prunes he has been eating. Homeboy loves himself some prunes.

In the month of March, Noah has eaten peas (his least favorite), green beans, bananas, oatmeal, rice cereal, prunes, and squash.  He really likes when I mix the fruit with the oatmeal. That seems to be his favorite and keeps him full the longest. I just mix b-milk, mushed banana, and oatmeal. It makes for a baby parfait. .

Bedtime/ Awake:  He will sleep 12 hours during the night with a dream feed at 10:00 pm. He has been losing his pacifier in the middle of the night, and I have been getting up to put it back in. We still swaddle him. I am hoping to get him out of this habit soon, but he isn’t ready yet.

Diapers: He is in 2’s. I think he will stay her for a while.

Clothes: He is in 3 month or 3 to 6 months outfits. I did a big cleanse of clothes this weekend. There were some clothes that were way too small in his dresser. I put them away and brought out the next level up of clothes. It’s been fun to put him in new outfits. I seriously love dressing babies.

Favorites: He loves cups! If anybody is drinking, he gets so excited (pants and waves his arms) and wants to touch the cup and hold it too. It is really precious. He loves to be carried and talked to. We use our baby Bjorn all the time. Noah loves bath time and to splash around. With solids now in the midst of our life, we bathe him often. Babies are so messy. Noah loves to go for walks and play with his toys in his bumbo. He is definitely an only child and thinks it is just WRONG for him not to be the center of attention. Noah loves his pacifier and he loves to cuddle.
notice the farmer's tan....oops! bad mommy
Dislikes: Noah Walker doesn’t care much for tummy time. He doesn’t like to be left alone for long periods of time. He doesn’t like PEAS. He gets scared by loud noises and men with deep voices.

Tricks: Noah is very aware of his surroundings- his hand eye coordination has improved immensely. He reaches for items to put in his mouth. Noah can hold his own bottle, but it isn’t always at the right angle, so we usually help him out. Noah can “walk” while holding your hands. He can eat from a spoon. He knows his name and responds to both Matt and my voice instantly. He can babble all different syllables; some which sound like MAMAMAMAMAMAMA. Happy 5 months sweet buddy!

My Cup Overflows...

Psalm 23:5
You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies; you anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows.

Lately, I have just felt this overflow of joy- knowing my God is in control. I feel like being both a wife and a mother is truly the greatest gift.

Although this cup is empty, my little nugget has been trying to drink out of a cup. He wants to get his hands on anything and put his mouth on whatever possible. It reminded me of this verse above. The Lord if my portion and I cannot but continue to sing his praises for this little boy! My cup truly overflows...

Happy Sunday!

March 11th

OH, WHAT A DAY!
The best birthday came my way,
Lots of love from my two boys
Thoughtful gifts and brand new toys.
Let me just say how blessed I feel to be 26, have a beautiful baby boy and married to a wonderful hubby. Yesterday was the best 26th birthday. I am still basking in the beautiful, relaxing, amazing day.

My french toast- getting hungry looking at it now!

With the time change, we “slept” in. Matt and I slept until 8:20 or so, and Noah slept until 9. It was wonderful- a rarity in our house these days- so something I totally treasured. Matt decided to make me breakfast- he decided to try out a new dish. He made homemade French toast and I’m already requesting it for next weekend. It was delicious- not so much nutritious- but hey, calories DON’T count on your birthday. For my mid-morning snack, Matt and I walked to Randallsand he treated me to Starbucks (a favorite of mine, that doesn’t happen often with a budget-bahhhhh). We went grocery shopping and to Target to pick out my new CROCKPOT. Boy oh boy, I’m so excited about this birthday gift.  I just keep thinking of all the possibilities to come with this new cooking dish.
My Birthday Buddy. He even helped daddy make breakfast.

After shopping, Matt and I took little dude on a walk. I seriously saw about 100 walkers around our neighborhood. With four days of rain, everybody was out and about soaking in the rays. It was the perfect temperature, with the perfect breeze, and the perfect Clem boys.
For dinner, we dropped off Noah with a sweet family from our community group, and we headed to Z Tejas for some margaritas, guacamole, enchiladas, and chocolate pie. Let me just say, I was hurting after this meal. It was so good- the perfect cherry on top of my perfect birthday.
Brownie Pie- my favorite!

Sorry for the overuse of the word perfect.
Hope y’all had a happy weekend too.

This boy is excited! He is looking strawberry blonde these days!

March Madness

Things I don’t want to forget-
My work buddy this morning- somebody is excited!

Noah rubs his eyes when he is getting sleepy and ready for a nap. (I'll get a picture of it, melts my heart everytime.)
On February 29th, we started Noah on rice cereal- he chugs it.
Tummy Time Monster

Noah loves to try to hold onto the bottle or assist with the milk and get his hand in his mouth while feeding- super annoying, but oh so cute.
Matt has been playing the guitar for him every day the past couple days, not only does it soothe him but he also has fallen asleep to Matt’s lullaby.
Matt's Twinkie!

Noah has started speaking new syllables. We hear Mmmm's, Aaaa's, Oooo's, it's amazing
Peas were the first baby food homeboy tried. He didn’t  LOVE love it, but he ate them and enjoyed himself.  (March 4th)
Sweet Potato Mess!

Sweet Potatoes have been the next adventure. We tried those today March 7th; he was totally a fan-see the face below!
So far March has been pure madness for Noah. He is slowly discovering this world and all the flavors and sounds it has to offer.
This face totally made the mess worth it!

Psalm 73

These are words I am meditating on today.
And yes, we let our son try a dum-dum (really, only like 5 licks).

Noah's muscles

Boys will be boys…
When the girls are away
Noah and Daddy bring the fun, without delay
Daddy drew on Noah just as a joke
And Noah has quite good aim for a little bloke.

So funny story, my poem gives a little idea of the situation, but it was very hilarious. I left Matt and Noah this morning to go to work. I think Matt went a little stir crazy, and he told me that he was tired of me putting Noah in white onesie outfits. So, Dad decided to spruce it up. He drew muscles on the front (obviously). Matt then tried to draw back muscles, which looked more like hair, and drew a beware sign pointing to Noah’s hiny.

Now, fastforward 6 hours when I get home from work, and I can’t stop laughing at what Matt has drawn on Noah. I’m holding Noah, having a jolly g00d ol' time, when our rooter tooter starts going to town. I didn’t really think much of it, but I knew he was doing some work. After he was done, and the grunting and clenched fists stopped, I checked out the damage. See below-good aim son, good aim.
